Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Ho Chi Minh (D)
Up on arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, we are welcome by Green Discovery Indochina Travel’s tour guide at the airport then we transfer to our hotel in central city.
In the evening, we enjoy our welcome dinner at a fine local restaurant in town. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City



Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (B/L)
08:00: Tour guide and driver will meet us at hotel and start our full day Ho Chi Minh City tour.
08:15 – 08:45: we visit Notre Dame Cathedral and Saigon Central Post office to get good shots for our memory of the big, modern city of Vietnam. Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral was established by French colonists. The cathedral was constructed between 1863 and 1880. It has two bell towers, reaching a height of over 58 meters (190 feet).
Saigon Central Post office is a post office in the downtown Ho Chi Minh City, near Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, the city’s main church. The building was constructed when Vietnam was part of French Indochina in the early 20th century.
09:00 – 10:00: visit War Remnant Museum, where we can see countless artifacts, photographs and pictures documenting about the second Indochina war. Visiting this museum, we may know much more about these historical truths from the collections of photos taken by 134 War reporters killed during the Vietnam War, the vestiges of war crimes and aftermaths.
10:15 – 11:45: visit the Reunification Palace, the former Presidential Palace for the president of the South of Vietnam. Independence Palace is an important historical evidence, witnessed the transfer of power between Saigon government and the revolutionary government after the liberation army minute
12:00: stop for lunch at a fine local restaurant in town.
14:00: Visit Cho Lon market, China town & Thien Hau Temple. Cho Lon, China town was settled in the late 18th century, this labyrinthine section of Ho Chi Minh City bustles with restaurants, temples, exotic stores, and markets. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City



Day 3: Ho Chi Minh– Cao Dai Temples – Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L)
At 9 o’clock, we will depart for Tay Ninh in the Northwest of Saigon where is near the Cambodian border to visit Cao Dai Temple or Great Temple or Holy See. Cao Dai is a syncretistic Vietnamese religious movement that incorporates aspect of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and even Catholicism. Here, we will have chance to see a modern architecture closely resembles Christian cathedral… There are 4 ceremonies in a day, 6AM, Noon, 6PM & midnight. We will visit NOON ceremony at 12:00, a biggest one in a day.
We can see an orchestra of 10 musicians and a choir of 20 youths leads the service in prayer and hymns. The hymns sound western, but the accompanying music is traditional Vietnamese. We can take photos, and we are also asked for trousers, skirts covering the knees; remove shoes before entering and remain quiet as possible during the ceremony.
After a half of hour of the ceremony, we will be back to our vehicle to transfer to the local restaurant for our lunch. After lunch, we will transfer to Cu Chi Tunnels where is located in the Cu Chi District of Ho Chi Minh city. The tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during combat, as well as serving as communication and supply routes, hospitals, food and weapon caches and living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters.
Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed; then we will have an exploration of the maze of tunnels. We will visit the safe part of the tunnel system which may be made larger and lightening. Above-ground attractions include caged monkeys, vendor selling souvenir, and a shooting range where we can fire a number of assault rifle, such as the M16 rifle or AK-47, as well as a light machine gun like the M60. We will be back to Saigon at around 18:00. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City

-Photo is permitted during the ceremony
-Trousers, skirts is required to cover the knees
-Shoes are asked to remove before entering
-Keep quiet during the ceremony



Day 4: Ho Chi Minh – My Tho (B/L)
At 08.00 our tour guide will meet you at the lobby of the hotel then we leave Ho Chi Minh City behind and head to Vietnam’s rice basket, the Mekong Delta. We will pass through idyllic, rural scenes until we arrive at My Tho, a peaceful town on the bank of the Mekong River, where we will visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. Next we will have a boat ride on the Mekong, visit local homes and orchards, a coconut candy workshop, a honeybee farm, take a sampan ride on palm-shaded creeks, try a taste of season fruit and honey tea and enjoy a performance of traditional Southern singing. We return to Ho Chi Minh City about 5pm. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City



Day 5: Ho Chi Minh Departure (B)
You are free time for shopping until transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of services!
Price Inclusions:
  • Entrance Fees: To scenic spots as listed in the itinerary.
  • Meals: Vietnamese Normal Food - All meals as specified in the itinerary.
  • Private Transfers: Transfers between airports, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing by private air conditioned vehicle with a driver and English-speaking guide (as listed above).
  • Guide: As outlined in the itinerary an English-speaking guide and driver will be provided in each city they will remain with you throughout your time in that city.
  • Hotels: Hotel fees are based on two people sharing one room with Double/Twin beds.
    All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily Western or Vietnamese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

Price Exclusions:
  • Excess Baggage Charges. Passengers holding an adult fare or half fare ticket are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 20kg, for economy class. Total weight of carryon baggage for each passenger may not exceed 5kg. The size may not exceed 20x40x 55cm.
  • Personal Expenses: Expenses of a purely personal nature such as laundry, drinks, fax, telephone calls, optional activities, sightseeing or meals which are not included in the tour itinerary.
